Comment | Category: The Art of Science Description: Edward Tufte is a noted statistician whose career focuses on how data sets should be presented for maximum clarity. I find that his charts and graphs are also very aesthetically pleasing. Check out some examples on his website. Website:Edward Tufte (statistician)

Comment | Category: The Art of Science Description: A fantastic film of art and science, Powers of Ten, was directed by Ray and Charles Eames. The film begins with a couple having a picnic, then the camera begins zooming away at a rate of one to the power of ten. 1 meter, 10 meters, 100 meters, and so on. Soon the viewer is careening through the galaxy away from Earth.

Comment | Category: The Art of Science Description: The Allen Brain Atlas is an ambitious scientific endeavor to completely map the genes and DNA that make up the human brain. Their website (at the time time of this writing) is pretty dry stuff reading, but for some vivid images of their work check out this link. Note: not for the faint of heart.
